You can get this M18 Impact for $187 if you do the HD hack with the M18 1/4 impact driver (Buy one get one). This is what I plan on doing.

5AH is kind of an odd pairing choice since I'm pretty sure these benefit from the higher power XC6.0 & higher (Forge) batteries can put out

This is not a good combo in my opinion. This is the "pin detent" version that will lock a socket on the anvil and requires a pick or something to unlock it. It also comes with the 5.0 battery that is worse in every way (less power, less capacity, while being heavier) than the 6.0.

Since these tools will make use of the extra power from the 6.0, even if someone wants a pin detent version of the impact they should probably get a deal with the 6.

lol the 6.0 is not lighter than this 5.0, and the deal you have is better than the deal you don't- where is this 6.0 deal? The hack is a better move than this though. (Sell the impact on marketplace if you're sensitive to big corporate feelings.)If you really want this deal for some reason but don't want the pin detent version- the anvil swap is super easy. Plenty of places to order the part online.

Rigid has one that out performs this model for $200 with 2 4.0ah batteries and a charger as well.

That's actually a different model, but it might actually be the better of the two. Higher torque, but also a square friction ring instead of pin detent.
