FYI, unfiltered coffee (French press, Turkish, boiled and cold brew) can raise your LDL (bad cholesterol). Coffee beans contain natural oils with compounds called diterpenes (cafestol and kahweol) that raise LDL. Using a filter prevents these compounds from reaching the final coffee.
The American Heart Association recently published their extensive guidelines on coffee and cardiovascular disease. Coffee had a good or neutral effect for preventing various morbidities. However, cholesterol was the exception. Some studies showed a rise in LDL. But filtered coffee did not have this negative effect. Ultimately, drinking 3-5 cups of coffee per day is optimal for health. Note that a cup is 8oz, not the 5-6oz used by most drip coffee carafes.
I'm thinking plastic would be more inconvenient when camping(?)
I'm fine with plastic but some people are concerned about microplastics. And it's harder to clean plastic. It tends tend to absorb odors and stains, including those from coffee. Oils are also harder to clean off plastic, and coffee does contain oil. That said, they use Tritan plastic, which is famously glass-like, and resists stains and odors. Overall, I'd agree that plastic is more convenient, lighter and safer for camping.

Holy crap, 8 cups, so 40 ounces.
Should come with a free second one.....so you can pee in it.
Nah, it's only 32oz. It's annoying but (like Asian rice cookers) coffee carafes don't use the standard 8oz cup. Most drip coffee carafes consider 5-6oz to be a cup. But for whatever reason, OXO decided to be rebellious and use 4oz as their standard.
