10000 IU is a very high dose.
Check if you need that high of a dose. Vitamin D is actually stored in body's fast reserves and not washed away like other vitamins that you might want to take in excess.

Unless one lives closer to the equator and/or spend a lot of time daily outside, the average person is regularly very deficient. 5-10K IU is generally considered safe for most. Check with bloodwork and your doctor obviously.
