I was not impressed when I bought from their website. Even this price is not worth it.

Anything in particular you dislike about them? I find their lens much better than Raybans for example.

Great deal. Was literally just about to buy the Mamalu Bay for $50 more.

He is referring to the eyedictive storefront not Maui Jim. I purchased from eyedictive before... the website can seem a bit dated and iffy. But their purchase and return policy was painless and simple. I purchased from them 3 times in the past and had 2 returns (improper fit). Never had an issue.

Great prices, wish they had more "frameless" models. Love my Banyans! There's a huge difference in quality if you've never worn Maui Jims.

Staff posted deal, so will make a FP regardless of its worthiness. I'll add my .02c anyways, though it will likely gets TD'd to oblivion...

Eyedictive is not a bad vendor. I purchased a couple of glasses from them in the past. Shipping is kind of slow but it's free, so no complains there. The items were exactly as described, and this alone is an achievemnt these days.

On the Maui Jim selection there... After breaking a couple of pairs of sunglasses in a row recently, I went on buy and try spree with Costco online selection. I tried 9 different pairs of MJ and 3 pairs of Serengeti and ended up with 1 Serengeti and 1 MJ. In the process I found was that most newer MJ models, especially those Made in Italy, are not nearly as good and premium as original MJ ever were. The newer models added to the lineup after MJ was purchased by Kering in 2022 have very little to do with MJ legacy; are built cheaper (just check those nose pieces) and with cheaper materials, both a frame and a glass. The glass often miss fingerprint resistant coating, for example a pair I got for my wife in 2025 attracts fingerprints like crazy. The frame material is usually cheap plastic, comparing to older MJ. If you are lucky to find a model that was made in Japan - that is usually a safer bet. I ended up getting Serengeti Tulsa (similar to the one below, only with brown tint) and MJ Beaches. Serengeti is short of amazing, always clean and super-clear glass. And MJ Beaches is Made in Japan, titanium frame, very light with amazing glass, same tint as TulsaCostco usually has a wide selection of these glasses: https://www.costco.com/s?keyword=maui%20jim. If you end up finding them in store, they are usually $10 cheaper and often go on sale for under $100. Good luck

As noted above, I've purchased several things from them in the past and I've had no problems at all. They've all been great and I did have to deal with one return due to the glasses not fitting my wife and it was painless.

Same. The seller is fine imo but the frames are weak sauce compared to before MJ was bought by Kering Eyewear. Lenses appear to be unchanged as far as I could tell. The pair I bought from Kering/MJ broke within a few months of very careful wear- they were not abused in any way and one day they cracked and the lens fell out pffft. Customer service is nothing like it was before either.

This was a much better post than I was going to leave, but I did exactly what you did -- buy and try at Costco.
I ended up with a MJ glass-lens pair, and a RayBan glass-lens. The extra weight was worth the beautiful optics. Driving with these glasses is undescribably easier on my eyes than the Sunclouds and other cheap glasses I used the past 30 years.
I hate paying $110 for a pair of glasses, but it was totally worth it.
I'd be nervous of buying and trying from Eyesdirective (vs Costco), and those Nuu MJ green glasses are tempting. But I'll stick with my 2 pairs and call it a day for now Smilie

Ugh that is so unfortunate. I have an old pair of Maui Jims that I had for a few years and they were awesome but have recently been lost. Was looking forward to buying a new pair. I guess the enshittification of anything good continues. 😪

Is Maui Jim considered a very high end and luxury brand?? Why these are so expensive despite the discount??

Just got back from my beach trip. I had purchased these Maui's from eyedictive 2 months ago. They were fantastic for bright days. The polarization allowed me to see jellyfish in the water that would have been invisible without it. Great purchase. However I did sit on the aviators and bent them so I'm a little upset at that but hardly their fault.

Bought a pair of the Walaka's last time these were on sale, and didn't like the weird lens transition on the fancy red lenses. I already have a pair of Walaka's with the plain neutral grey lenses, so I bought those now.

Keep a pair in each car Smilie
