Getting the 2nd Gen 4-pack at $85 is a steal considering the hardware improvements. The upgraded Ultra Wideband chips and 50% louder speaker make a massive difference when you are hunting for hidden keys compared to the older 1st gen models

Directly thru Apple only.
Not thru other sellers like Amazon, Best Buy etc.

Well, I wear HA (hearing aids) due to severe tinnitus+bilateral hearing loss (caused by syringomyelia in the neural tissue in my spinal canal, and the SM is due to congenital Chiari Malformation.) Imo, Apple could have done better right out of the starting gate, re logistics and a louder more audible beeping chirp alert. Insufficiently audible beep (chirp) proved extremely aggravating to an independent single Airtag user. They should have taken the ADA into account because they could have created better! It's not as if they lacked the funds and/or tech to do so!! I feel that they should provide a way for all purchasers regardless of price paid/investment into 2nd gen Airtags to obtain the ability to choose personalization whatever it takes to do so, as a sort of remediation apology, per se. I suppose all of Apple's employees have perfect hearing??? Either someone slept on the job, or a bean counter got involved re milking their proprietary tech for all it's worth!!

I'm so sorry for your condition Frown I agree that the chime/beep sound could definitely be louder on the Gen 2 AirTag. It is way too quiet and very easy to miss.
