I put these in all the bathrooms and beside the stairs. When plugged in/charging they're off, so when the power goes out, the come on. No one wants to be in the bathroom in the dark at a crucial moment.

Was ready to jump on these until I read the Amazon reviews. Though most were highly rated, there were enough complaints about the fire hazard to cause concern. Too many of the lithium batteries burned, smoked, and melted the plastic housing and/or outlet. Considering that these would be plugged in 24/7 and unmonitored while sleeping or out of the house, I consider it too much of a fire hazard. I could overlook not being bright enough, not lasting long enough, or not even coming on, but I cannot overlook the risk of a fire.
