No a bad tv but definitely a budget tv. The max brightness is on the darker side.. if you got a place with too much background lighting this will be an issue. Also if you look at this tv from a angle it produces a washed out white look. If you looking to throw something big in your room this is decent.

I have both q7 and q77. q7 is much better in black scenes. For a bedroom tv q77 like watching news or TV show it's fine, for movie night q7 is much better and worth additional $100.
