got excited for a second and then i saw it was DVD. who is watching dvd anymore unless its some nerd with a CRT old school TV? Im sure somebody is going to ding me for this but for real?!

Surprisingly, dvd looks pretty dang good on my 65" when upscaled through my Blu-ray player. I'd say it's equivalent to 720p streaming quality. Very watchable. Alot of people still have older tech that only takes dvd.

I actually find that I enjoy (prefer?) many 80s-00s movies in DVD. Maybe because the lower resolution that's how I saw them originally? Maybe because the CGI blends in better? Maybe because my brain fills in the realism? Not sure what the reason is, but if it's not a nature documentary or a movie where the landscape is a focal point, I don't need crazy resolution.

my main preference for Blu Ray is more about how hard they are to damage
