I have 2 of these phones. One from Total, and one from Metro. Fantastic phones. I love the wired desktop mode ability. However, according to Motorola, security updates will stop May 2027. That 6/28 date you site is for the Edge 2025. I suppose you could use the $60 365 day TracFone plan to unlock these...in a year. I think it's just too late to buy these with the software support Motorola offers. After security updates end, I plan on using them for emulation with the wired desktop mode.

Yesterday, I was able to successfully get this phone rebranded to Tracfone while utilizing the existing Straight Talk physical SIM. However, the key to making this work is that the phone must be brand new OOB and not have been activated on ST's network.
