ThermoMaven makes a number of nice wireless thermometer sets including this dual probe P2 unit that has wi-fi and bluetooth app connectivity options. However this P2 unit doesn't have the Sub-1G option that provides the longest distance connectivity (up to 3K feet). So I'd opt for the dual probe G2 unit which provides all three connection options...includng Sub-1G...that is currently listed on sale at SD for the same $50 price.

I wonder if it's like 5G vs 4G mobile data where one gives better distance but at the same time it gets easily blocked.

ThermoMaven uses bluetooth 5.3 on all of their wireless thermometer sets (P1, G1, P2, G2, P4, G4) so despite their stated BT range (~500ft) that might be an issue for some users as it was for me . In contrast, Sub-1G has a range of ~3000ft. I've found it to be very reliable when doing a cook on my BBQ or smoker...even when I'm in my kitchen on the opposite side of the house. That's why I recommend the G2 unit over the P2 unit...both units have wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity...but the G2 adds Sub-1G and is currently the same price ($50) as the P2 unit.

I got these and they're fine for my use case. I cook mostly burgers and brats so many times these don't work due to the insertion depth requirement. Better fit for smoking meats and cooking larger steaks.
