Dual hose, and DC (inverter) compressor are a great plus. Just keep in mind an in-window unit of the same specs will perform a little better than a portable unit.

I have a 12k Whynter dual hose that has treated us very well for 5 years now . God willing we get many more years of it.

With an inverter and less BTU, will it be better than my current one ?

I bought this on eBay last time it was posted here, and it came with black mold inside and was absolutely filthy.
I returned it and bought the same one for the same price on Amazon; it arrived spotless and unused.
I checked Amazon, and it's the same price there.

it doesnt look like this particular model has a heat pump, but I have a hisense that looks just like this one, dual hose, and has a heat pump, no inverter though, its an older model that came out before the inverter models came out

I bought this from Amazon and received a week ago to replaced my dead Whynter 10K BTU dual hose. This unit is smaller and easier to move around than the Whynter. The unit arrived spotless. It looked brand new.

eBay has the 2 years Allstate warranty and Amazon only has 90-days. I would go with eBay. Good deal for the spec.
