You will not find a better deal in "new" condition than this. Not even close. The Speakers are neutral and do play loud if you have the watts. The towers bass will be lacking though, and imaging is ok, not amazing. That being said any non-audiophile will be presently surprised.
Now if your willing to be really patient and willing to research and buy used you could possibly buy a set of infinity interlude for this price. Or maybe a decent set of Klipsch, or maybe definitive technology. Which would probably sound better if taken care of. But remember when you're talking speakers, they get put in attics/sheds/garages when not in use so beware. They only last a lifetime when not abused and kept indoors
