I ordered this cause it was around this price. I figured for ~$8 how bad could it be. It is decently sharp, but the closing mechanism is beyond stupid. It is so intuitive to put your fingers inside to help it close that it baffles me that anyone would actually bring this to market. I havent cut myself yet, because I havent played with it since I got it a couple months ago. This is a throw away item for me and its value is zero. This is coming from someone who has 50+ knives.
The reviews talked about how stupid the closing mechanism was when I bought it. I still did. Wet paint sign, and I am the guy who touches the wet paint.
I own this. Haven't used it much to test edge retention or durability but it's decent for the money. The blade is long and slender and certainly dangerous for stabby work, despite the quality of the steel on the low end.
The closing mechanism is interesting, safe, and usable once you understand it properly, otherwise there is increased risk of cutting yourself.
An extra safety feature is that it has multiple 'stop' points as you're opening/closing it. It won't suddenly slam open/shut on you.
The handle is cheap feeling plastic but is tight and not rattly.
Overall a good value and slices well due to thin flat blade.
