It's about as cheap as 4K IPS gets. This monitor class is the sweet spot for me, 4k fast refresh at great prices (and without mini-LED, which I avoid since I prefer low minimum brightness). I don't have all the brands accurately mapped out for quality but I think Acer is towards the bottom, perhaps worse than Chinese brands (I've purchased KTC monitors with no issues, and I'm pretty sure all these cheap fast-IPS monitors have basically the same Chinese panels). Since this is from Costco you get pretty good protection though. My next step up would be the latest RGB-stripe OLED but considering the ~5x price difference and same exact refresh rate I just can't justify it (I know there are other advantages but still...)

One big disadvantage of cheap 4k IPS is that they don't come with DP 2.1 ports, and DSC with DP 1.4 takes up 2 GPU lanes, so running more than 2 monitors at full 4k/10bit/144Hz+ is difficult/impossible unless GPU comes with more than 1 HDMI port.

Gamers just need one monitor, unlike coder. why "2 monitors at full 4k/10bit/144Hz+"?

Its a fairly good deal .. most are $249 refurbs. This does not say its refurbhish and its around $200 for 4k and gaming single monitor wise it will be just great .

I like high refresh rate (at least 120Hz) even for productivity tasks and gaming monitors are just fine for my purposes (good enough color), but it's an important quirk that they don't have DP 2.1 unlike expensive OLED or dedicated productivity monitors. If someone bought ~$1000 4k monitors instead they could connect 4 directly to a modern GPU.

Do not do it. 4K at 27" is NOT good. 3x 27" 1440p resolution is the sweet spot.If you want 4K, do not get anything smaller than 32"
4K 27" is sweet spot for me. 32" is too big

Never have I heard that before. Gamers always use two monitors one for the game and the other for anything else like YouTube/Netflix, Discord, a guide to the game, a map to the game, and the list goes on.. no real gamer alt tabs all day between windows. are there people out there that do this? sure but its common knowledge that gamers now a days have 2 monitors.

on your last point sure maybe they won't need two 4k monitors as one main strong monitor and second one will be fine as whatever.

I had 144hz View Sonic and MSI monitors and when I saw my friend's Acer monitor I thought it looked better than the other two I had. I then picked up an Acer monitor and it is my favorite one. I will be buying Acer monitors into the future.

Which viewsonic did you have?

My next monitor will definitely be OLED. Dark blacks are a big deal for me.!

Are their PCs low quality too?
