These come in handy for cabinet installations, construction work, or if you just need a 2nd pair of hands when working on a project. This also helps lift things like furniture and appliances. People have used them to lift couches so they can vacuum underneath. Or you can use them to lift things that need to be placed on a dolly. This design requires less lifting than would be needed if using a bottle jack or floor jack.

I believe these have a safety feature that prevents it from slamming to the ground when lowering. Cheaper jacks typically do not. There's also the premium just for the DeWalt name. Husky released their version as well. They're a little smaller, but definitely fill a gap in the market when it comes to pricing.

It's not bad, but not the lowest they've been. If your outside California, no tax. So that makes it a better deal.

I purchased the below back in 2023 for $50 (now $36) and I'm now going to purchase the Dewalt ones. One already completely failed and the second one started failing to lift without getting stuck/binding on a single piece of drywall (trying to lift it a few inches off the slab). Wish I had just spent the money on the quality Dewalt option initially.

DIYer here. I was on the fence about buying a set of these but since owning a pair I'm always finding a use. Lifted a safe to get pipe/rollers under. Straightened warped lumber while framing. Opened up a slightly dented aluminum pergola frame member. Lifted a heavy vintage stove to place a cart underneath. Jacked a heavy wall cabinet into place. Leveled corrugated metal siding while installing.
Pros, slim foot design, the ability to step on the handle to lift, high weight capacity-especially in pairs.
Cons, barely a con but while I like the size and portability, it seems that I'm always hitting maximum extension. I use spacers, wood blocks or what ever is handy but the actual lift isn't quite half of the 18" height. Wish they came with an extension or a version with 2 more inches.
At $150-$160 a set, if this enables you to work alone a few times they pay for themselves. If I see these for $100 a pair I'm buying them as gifts and will probably buy an extra set.
