Had to take them home after two microwaves were set on fire. (Popcorn/paper burned...fire damaged/melted microwave insides)
It was not me putting them in the microwave younger staff did....
Senior management got mad at me as I didn't get approval, yet microwave popcorn is fine and often gets overcooked.

but same idiots burn bags of popcorn in the microwave, and have ruined microwaves... but that's ok I guess.

FWIW, the fact you can't (or won't) see the massive difference between "overcooked" microwave popcorn and multiple FIRE(S)....says a lot about your ability to look at the situation objectively.
P.S. I am not justifying the people who started the fire, however rules are often tailored around the dumbest person who could possibly use something. And it sounds like your company has multiple weak links on the payroll
