I've had this set with gas dryer for a few years now, it's pretty meh. Wires came off drain pump a couple times and I ended up putting new larger gauge wire and terminals on.

I got a Maytag washer at Costco earlier this month. This one's slightly nicer. I'd stay away from GE, Frigidaire and Samsung. This is a better brand, if you're concerned. I wouldn't be worried. I've sold and installed maybe a thousand sets over the years. This is made by Whirlpool.

Website says $1499.98 for the set. But if purchase as a combo, the price will be adjusted to $200 less each. But the math still doesn't come right: 1500-400=$1100!

Does Maytag offer the lid lock delay option the GEs offer ?

Doesn't mane sense how all these washers nowadays want to lock upon fill Start

You can add a garment.

I would bet it's in case a kid tries to get in, like how they got rid of latching the fridge door shut.

They sure don't make kids or laundry machines like they used to.
