The interval timer is really useful, I believe the AE1300 has one as well with slight differences.

I am guessing it's a combination of enjoying the 80's/90's aesthetic, and utilitarian reasons for those using the timers etc.

I wear a SUB 14060M daily for aesthetics and actually………wait for it………. Tell the time with it.

Redditors also mention getting away from smart watches, going more low tech to simplify without always being distracted.

It tells the time, for 10 YEARS. I don't want another damn thing that I have to charge every day or every other day. Smart watches need to significantly improve their battery life before I consider them again.

Couldn't agree more. It's crazy that Apple can't get their watch to last a week, probably because it's recording conversations.

Casio actually makes some smart watches that last over a year on a battery. I have the GBX100, it's a great watch that also gets notifications and step counts.

That said I still love these simple Casio digitals.

I love this watch. I wear it most days. I'm tempted to buy another one just to keep for when this one gets all beat up.
