is this system worth it?- depends if you want serious base, it's only 50 RMS watts, I would probably use eBay to piece together something better or about the same but with a better sub.

Thanks for this post, question for you. Is buying used speakers generally okay? I think someone scooped up the set you saw lol, now the cheapest is around 70, but ship to me is another 70. But just in general I hadn't really considered used speakers for my surround before. I already have a big replacement sub ready to go, so this set would be semi pointless.
So two questions I guess. Buying used speakers as a non audiophile is cool? I can hear basic crackling/blown, but if it's slightly off (indicating future failure? IDK?) I probably wouldn't know what to listen for.
And second question, used receivers? I have a "good" receiver that I paid 5 or 600 for 5 years ago, specifically to get awawy from my Onkyo which I hated... And then I found out Pioneer was owned by Onkyo and I didn't open it in time to return it after my wife bought it
So yeah guess I need ANOTHER dang receiver.

I use these in my loft with a decent Denon receiver in a 7.1 setup. Use 2 decent Polk speakers (rtia7s) for left and right and use the satellites for the 4 rears and the center. I use the sub in my office for 2.1. The sub is actually pretty good in its own right, but I got a deal on a better Polk sub.
My 2 cents.
