The inability to connect additional sensors is the killer anti-feature for my own use case. The Nest E was sensor compatible and they removed it for this one.

I had a 2nd gen nest that they were ending support with, and I was frustrated with a few things about it, so I decided to try ecobee based on a recommendation from a trusted friend.
I regret trusting him.
I got the "smart premium" model, and it's not smart at all.
My nest could detect when I was out of the house for an extended period of time and would change to away mode until I got back. The Ecobee cannot.
My nest would adjust my schedule based on my behaviors - didn't always get it right, but it would try. My ecobee claims to make suggestions based on my behavior, but in the year I've had it, it hasn't made a single recommendation (and that's not because I've set a perfect schedule that never needs adjusting).
And the ecobee thinks the temp is ~4 degrees lower than it is if my ceiling fan is on. My nest never had that issue.
