The Filmore is like the budget line of the Sk8 line. I have more pairs of Sk8 sneakers than Filmore sneakers but I actually prefer the Filmore line when it comes to performance because they are a lighter weight so my footwork is quicker. The collar lining is a padded cloth lining rather than a leather/synthetic leather lining that the Sk8 line uses. When you are sweating and doing a lot of performance movements, the leather/synthetic leather rubs and causes irritation. That never happens with the Filmore softer more beathable collar cloth lining. I also have a pair of low top old skool regular black vans but they are definitely more narrower than the sk8 and Filmore so I would never buy those old skool again. I got the low Black/Pewter Filmore (bought 3 pairs... 1 from kohls and 2 from amazon) and a high top blue Filmore from ebay. I got 6 different pairs of Vans now and the high top two tone blue filmore is my favorite and 2nd place would be the low top black/pewter Filmore. I think black/pewter gray looks better than the more common black with the white stitching on my sk8 and old skool. I wish they would bring back the Filmore high tops but I think they stopped making them. I can't find much with the high top filmore line now.... If they made Vans high top Filmore in this exact black/pewter colorway, it would look so awesome and I would buy on day 1 and pay full msrp.
