Also, drill holes in the bottom if you use them for water activities.
The best bag of this sort is a Yeti Camino 35. They also make a 25 and a 50L version but the 35 is the sweetspot for a family sized beach/pool tote bag. It's build like a brick sh!those and looks as good as when I bought it a few years back. I don't think I've gone on a trip without it since
