Can I apply it and go through a car wash?
No, you shouldn't rely on a standard drive-through car wash for this.
Iron remover needs to be thoroughly rinsed off within 2–4 minutes before it dries, and automated car washes create a few big problems if you try to use them for this:
1. It will dry on your paint: Waiting in line at the car wash entrance takes too long. If the chemical dries on your clear coat or trim, it can leave tough white stains or chemical etching.
2. Timing issues: Automatic wash cycles take several minutes to cycle through pre-soaks and soaps before reaching the high-pressure rinse, giving the formula way too much dwell time.
3. Restricted spray pattern: Automated wash nozzles miss tight spots like wheel barrels, under door handles, and lower rocker panels where iron buildup is worst.
