I've always wanted to try this one, but I'm picky with fragrances. If I end up not liking the scent, does Costco let you return opened cologne, or is fragrance treated differently?

Yes I believe they allow returns on open perfumes. Terre d'Hermes is a classic. I have a huge collection and it's always a staple because it's timeless, mature and classy.

This one's a favorite, and is in my seasonal rotation. It was a blind buy for me, but YMMV.

Go to a department store and smell it rather than opening a new one...

Best comment I've seen on here for a long time! It's great that Costco has a liberal return policy, but using it just because you want to sample something seems wasteful and lazy. I'm hearing more stories of Costco cancelling memberships due to excessive returns. They word it as Costco is canceling themselves as a retailer for the consumer saying "we just don't seem to be a very good provider of products to you as we can't seem to provide the products you need".

This fragrance is over hyped. I did a blind buy on the 6.7 oz from Costco.com when it was on sale for $118. I opened it, took one spray, didn't like it, and returned it the next day, no problem at all. I couldn't find any retail store that carried it to test it out. I think I'll start ordering samples from microperfumes from now on.

Fragrance is very subjective. You can personally dislike it and that's fine, that doesn't make it overhyped.

I've sampled hundreds of frags and I think this is one of the very few that lives up to the hype. It's ridiculously versatile and nonoffensive but somehow not boring. However I tend to prefer classic mens scents (like fougeres) which is why I like the minerality and non-sweet citrus here

Also agree, never ever blind buy. You can get a few MLs sample for <$5 online or at least go to a department store

I have bought a 6.7 oz Hermes Terre D'Hermes Eau de parfume back in 2018. I still have it. Love it, the bottle lasted me for a long long time.
I do have the watered down version of this fragrance that costco is selling. It won't last for one day, it fades away in a couple of hours. for $69, it's okay.

I bought a few years back, kind of blind buy, but I like it so much so that, whenever I visit I buy it from Aura fragrance discount price
I still have one less than half bottle.
This is almost the same price as Aura so pulled the trigger.
For those on the fence unless you're teenager or early 20s, you would gonna love it.

Solid fragrance, very heavy on the Orange, to the point some get bug repellent vibes from it. I also get lots of comments of "old man vibes" from it and have been complimented a few times by older people while wearing it. This is more to say that it's not a modern/bubblegum'y scent you find today.

Picked up all of the variants of TDH and while my favorite is the Intense Vetiver, this EDT is my second favorite.

Can be found regularly to test at places like Sephora and Nordstrom if you want to try it first. Also shows up on Costco in the 6.7oz bottle regularly

I bought three bottles of TdH during a Costco sale a year or two ago. I cannot describe enough how much I dislike this fragrance. It's not a safe blind buy, I'm gonna say that 95% of people are not gonna like this. I'm not saying it's not a good fragrance, but most people won't enjoy it.
