Also looks like "full" price is a lot less on eBay ($14.47 vs. $18.99).
However, I think that doesn't necessarily mean it won't pass SMART data. In fact, I suspect it does. Gough Li says this uses the RTL9210 chipset, and it looks like smartmontools on Linux supports that chipset.
