The second half of England vs France on Saturday was amazing. France made a huge comeback in the 2nd half and then England slammed the door shut. It was sports at its finest. I was expecting the same energy on Sunday but Spain missed every shot they took and Argentina did nothing. They kept on waiting for Messi to win the game for them. It was very boring. And then there was that woman with the British accent. I think her name is Rebecca Lowe. She could've been a great sportscaster for all I know but I couldn't get past her heavy British accent. I was already in a bad mood and she made it a lot worse. The play by play announcers were great. No issue at all with them. I wish the other announcers were as good.

We didn't watch it. I always say watching most golf on TV is like watching paint dry. It sounds like this game was likely similar.

During the hockey playoffs, I watched more than we usually do as I was helping my nephew after his back surgery. We actually talked about hockey vs soccer while I was there. While I think it is generally similar to soccer, being on the ice in a much smaller venue with men who are definitely less wimpy, I enjoyed the hockey.

I didn't grow up with golf, soccer or hockey, though I did get to go to a few hockey game when I was younger and had fun.

Your comment reminds me of something I once said to an avid golfer that did not get a good reception. Over the years, my husband has dabbled in golf (usually for work or charity outings) and there was an offer from a golf community for a free set of clubs if taking a tour of their offerings of real estate, membership, etc. Hubby wanted the clubs so off we went. I kept telling the guy (salesman) that I was not interested in golf whatsoever while he insisted he would get me to love it. So finally after hearing him say this once again, I told him I'd rather 'watch paint dry or grass grow'. The look he gave me brought to mind the saying 'if looks could kill'. He was not amused but I really didn't care.

I've also attended a few hocky games - with our son's scout or 4-H groups - and had fun but would not go to one just to go. It was probably more the group interaction that made it enjoyable.

There was a play at the end of the game where Messi was trying to make a goal and the defender blocked the shot with his face and collapsed to the ground. He knew the shot was coming, put his hands behind his back, and stood there and took it. There's nothing wimpy about that. He played for Spain, the team known for faking fouls. I've already commented on how much I dislike faking fouls but this guy should win a gold medal for bravery.

I remember Slap Shot with Paul Newman and the scene with the Hansen brothers and the vending machine.

Ive only ever been taken to the ER by ambulance so I dont know how it is if you walk in off the street but, basically, since I wasnt having heart issues I cooled my jets for several miserable hours the first time and I believe much of that was without being seen by so much as a nurse (immediately discharged after seeing a doctor). But the ambulance guys did take my vitals and stuff so maybe that made it OK? The other time I was actively needing more triage than the EMTs could provide so I was seen straight away. Still had to wait many hours before surgery.

We watched Welcome to Wrexam and I grew to tolerate football (the proper name lol). Although I happily admit that its more the stories of the players and fans than the actual games that keep me watching. I have still found nothing that makes me enjoy American football.

Has anybody found any good deals on FIFA soccer clearance? I'd love to pick up some stuff for cheap. Mostly the baseball caps. I'd love to get a coffee container but I think they only have them for cold drinks.

I'll give you an example of the kind of care that I get. I went to the ER on Tuesday for a fast heartbeat. They put me on telemetry and my heart rate was spiking to 190 and I was having near syncope (fainting). They put me in a room overnight and sent me home the next day. The only treatment I received was some nitro that didn't help at all. Now I'm at home trying to deal with the problem on my own (which I'm totally unable to do). The two times that I've gone into the hospital before this something similar happened. The other day I was watching tv and my heart rate went out of control for an hour. I don't know how fast it was but there should be a pacemaker record of it. I'm not a doctor but I don't think I should've been discharged yesterday and I don't think I would've been if I had Medicare B coverage but at $2400 a month there's no way that I can afford it.
