I was excited for the soccer semi today but it turned out the be a crappy game. One guy kept on kicking the ball above the goal and everybody was faking injuries to get penalties. The halftime analysts (the lady in red and two dudes) were beyond awful and the commercials were loud rap. That's it for me.

You have to watch the Argentina-England game tomorrow. That should be a good one. I've noticed in the several games we've watched that the injury faking seems to be normal. Very dramatic falls and rolling around. It is quite entertaining! Plus, the recovery time is almost instantaneous. There have been a few that have been real and heartbreaking for some of those players.

I haven't seen much soccer but it seems like Spain is better than everybody else. They're able to keep the other team from mounting an offense.

I was on another website reading about the McGregor fight. The thread starts off with a disclaimer about being nice and then quickly descends into some vile shit including celebrating the death of a politician. I need a shower and it's not from McGregor (although I'm definitely not a fan). It's from these self-righteous pricks who are worse than the people they attack.

Yep, she's having her ovaries twist and instead of going to the hospital 5 minutes away they're going to Ventura which is 45 minutes away and they'll probably get lost trying to find it. In Santa Barbara, all you have to do is drive down State Street. If it exists in the world, you can find it on State Street.

Let's also talk about the ER. They would've rushed her right into a room and the doctor would've examined her immediately. There's no way they'd let her sit in the waiting room for 4 hours. She lost an ovary because of the hospital. Can you imagine the lawsuit? She wouldn't have to blackmail the country club's manager anymore. I realize that Beef is a comedy but there wasn't anything funny about this scene or the whole show for that matter. The main characters are reprehensible.

I can only wish I lived in Montecito or Santa Barbara. I used to surf in that general area. There are so many great breaks. The most famous is probably Rincon. No matter what you're doing in life, a real surfer always knows when Rincon is breaking. It's like a little bell rings in your head.

I was going to go shopping at CVS but screw that, I'm staying home and watching soccer.

I saw a documentary on Netflix about a cyclist who was murdered by her boyfriend's other girlfriend who lived with the boyfriend. The girlfriend got 90 years but the boyfriend walked away with no charges and he caused the whole thing. I don't know what the point of the documentary was other than it being a sad story about a life cut short. The cyclist should've picked a better boyfriend. He was obviously a jerk. I'm sorry I wasted time with it. It put me in a bad mood. It was so unnecessary. The moral of the story is you don't cheat on your girlfriend when she lives with you and has access to your phone.

That happened here in Austin. I don't think the documentary did a good job covering the whole story, as the real story didn't really play out as you've described it. I did watch the documentary, but by the time it came on, I had already seen every detail through our news.

And on a better note than significant others being murdered, I'm just sitting here listening to 70's on 7 on SiriusXM and they are playing We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenters. Had that sung at our wedding ceremony - our 51st anniversary will be soon - August 2nd. Hard to believe.

I was watching a true crime show and one of the episodes was about the guy who wrote You Light Up My Life. He was on trial for rape and he killed himself. His son was on trial for murder at the same time. He killed a swimsuit model that he was going out with. I'll spare you the details but it was pretty gruesome. I think it happened in NYC.

Karen Carpenter also had a tragic death. She passed away from an eating disorder at 32. Paul McCartney said that Karen "had the best female voice in the world."
