My thoughts on the White House card

Topuria vs Gaethje - Gaethje must've been willing to fight for free. It's the only reason that the UFC would give him the fight over Arman.

Pereira vs Gane - great fight but Aspinall fans won't be happy.

O'Malley vs Zahabi - the UFC is really pushing O'Malley but I don't know why.

Ruffy vs Chandler - will Chandler need a cane to get to the octagon?

Nickal vs Daukaus - are you serious?

Lopes vs Garcia - haven't we seen enough of Lopes? Garcia is good so maybe he can finish Lopes.

I tried to watch Zuffa boxing last night but I fell asleep during the main event. Dana White has been trying to build up Jai Opetaia as this amazing prospect (and he might be) but I was bored out of my mind. A one-sided beat down doesn't prove anything other than it wasn't a good match-up. I don't know why Dana White thinks that boxing and UFC fans want to see squash matches instead of competitive fights. I don't mind it so much when a squash match unexpectedly happens (like on Saturday night with Oliveira vs Holloway) but they shouldn't schedule a wipe-out (like Topuria vs Gaethje on the White House card). Gaethje is going to end up like Ali after the Larry Holmes fight. Topuria is too good of a boxer and hits too hard. I don't want to see Gaethje get brain damage.

I was looking at the new Vons ad and I had to do a doubletake with Overjoyed cookies. They had them "on sale" for $5 but I read it as Overpriced cookies lol.

I don't know how Vons stays in business. They've very overpriced, always out of stock of key items, don't fix obvious problems (like icicles on the frozen food), the bakery isn't very good, there's no dress code (the young guys look like drugged-out hippies from the 60's), and the pharmacy has an attitude (to say the least). The store manager is always on the floor but he doesn't notice any of this stuff because he's too busy talking to his buddies and pretending to work. There's no use complaining because it's always the other guy's fault and he's off today. As far as calling, I'm still waiting on the gift cards I won from Game On (and that ended last year). I guess the post office is running slow lol. I'm stuck because I'm on foot and Vons is the only grocery store that's close to me but I sure wish that I had other places to shop at. I used to love Vons but they've gone way downhill since the merger with Kroger fell thru.

I think I'll watch The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy next. I had to look up what revenant means since I've never used it or seen it used in a sentence before. I watched Friends Like These and Death at the Mansion this week. Both of these are true crime stories that left me pissed off at the end. I don't think that they fully uncovered what really happened but I can't go into it without spoilers.

No kidding. I had to take a break. I've encountered bears while backpacking and I've been between a mother and a cub (obviously, not on purpose). It was on the High Sierra trail heading out from Morro Rock to (ironically enough) Bearpaw Meadow (yes, there are bears there). I was a rounding a bend and I saw a cub on one side of the trail and when I looked on the other side, there was the mother. I kept on walking and nothing happened but I saw in the movie what could've happened. In my case, it was a black bear, not a grizzly, but black bears are big enough. There was a black bear within inches of me another time. We were in our sleeping bags (it was in Sequoia but I don't remember exactly where) and everything was hung but the bear still wanted to check us out. All sorts of things can happen when you're backpacking. We've had a tree fall and just miss our tube tent, a rattlesnake block the trail and we had to climb up the hill to get by, and I almost fell down a shaft in a cave. That was crazy. It was pitch black and if I had taken one more step...

We watched Ready or Not last weekend because I am excited for the sequel due to some of the people in it. So I thought I should watch the first. Not sure how I missed it when it first came out but it was a solid horror flick.

This sounds really good but I cancelled Netflix a week ago because it kept on making me have to enter an email code in order to sign it (instead of my password). Since I've been having problems with my email server crashing, I didn't want to be stuck paying for something that I can't watch.

I'm having a problem with Hulu because it cuts out the last few minutes of everything I watch. I missed the end of Revenant because of this. It's been doing it for a couple of weeks now.

I went to Medi-Cal yesterday and I'm pretty sure that I wasted the day. I was hoping to talk with a case worker but all I got was somebody who copied my bills and told me that I'd get a letter in 4 days. Maybe it'll be a good letter but somehow I doubt it. While I was there, a little girl dressed in pink was running around the waiting area and her grandmother was chasing her. It was hysterical. Then a little boy the same age joined in the fun with his dad chasing him. The two kids wanted to play together but the girl was afraid and started crying every time the boy got close. As soon as his dad picked him up, she started running around again. When the little girl's mom finished her paperwork, they left and I went there goes my entertainment lol. There's absolutely nothing to do in the waiting area other than go over what you're going to say a million times and then I didn't get a chance to say anything...

I'm watching The OC now. I missed it when it was on back in 2003. I lived in Newport Beach for a couple of years and I wanted to see what all of the parties I missed were like (I was too busy working and surfing, not necessarily in that order). The show is ok and I think that I'll finish out the first season. I only have 2 complaints (which is a lot less than usual for me lol). Seth doesn't do much for me and it's amazing how far the James Dean look can get Ryan.

If I ask to close down this thread, would somebody else be willing to start a new one up? I think everybody is tired of my bad tv reviews and boring medical stories. Maybe we can start talking about different topics that are more interesting and we'll get more posts.

It was just a thought. I enjoy doing the thread. I meant that if somebody else wanted to give it a try I'd be ok with it.
