It's an interesting business decision to open up such a polarizing place where you'll instantly turn off half of your potential customers.
But for those who loved the name/concept, you couldn't do anything wrong in their eyes. You know, the 'poorly educated' lol.

I think that people want burgers that are good and cheap and aren't going to go out of their way for a Trump Burger even if they love Trump. They might go there one time but after that it's In and Out all day.

That's been literal in norcal since In n Out showed up here.
I'd had one in socal years ago, it was a one person booth with drive ups on either side. No one else was there besides me the entire time.
MIL's town got one of the first - it may be a decade by now -we can see it as we enter the freeway and the line is ALWAYS backed up a block on the street. One was built near us a couple of years ago and have never been there. This one shares a parking lot with Lowes so the line isn't on the street but it's way beyond the drive up.

I don't get it. I mean, they're good but not worth THAT. We have Habit Burger which is superior, and a new Nation's which is supposed to be great.

The doc has reduced my intake of even grass fed beef to 2 times a month, so I just make my own. Grocery Outlet has really tasty grass fed 93% lean for 6.99/lb. I have lots in the freezer from when it was $5. Dang doctors, I'd never even met my primary care the insurance company assigned to me at least 7 years ago until I had to after I broke my arms this summer. Now he's got me doing blood tests and sh*t. *sigh*

But DH & MIL are glad I'm going back. DH's insurance changed so he has to PAY for me now and was frustrated that I never used it. But one ER bill made it worth it.

I love The Habit and I've gone there for years. A friend told me to try the double cheeseburger at In and Out and it's my new favorite burger. It's much better than their single cheeseburger (don't ask me why because I can't explain it, it just tastes better). The wait times are long at both The Habit and In and Out but the superior food is worth it.

A lot of people don't like the burgers at Burger King and Wendy's but if you can find a good location (which isn't easy), they're very tasty. Unfortunately, Burger King is extremely overpriced and with the bad quality at so many locations I hardly ever go. I don't live close to a Wendy's that I like so it's also off my list. Carl's Jr is close but the only place worse for a burger is McDonald's. Carl's Jr used to be so good way back when (in the late 70's and early 80's) but now it's poor food quality with crazy high prices.

We had burgers at In & Out one time, and we were not impressed.

I'll get my burgers from PTerry's (local), Culvers, Wendy's or Burger King. In fact, I would probably take a burger from McDonald's before I went back to In & Out. I definitely don't see the allure.

I've heard great things about Culvers. I wish that they'd open one here. I get what you're saying about In and Out. Maybe it's a LA thing. The double cheeseburger is to die for and I don't mind the wait. Since I'm not driving now, it's a special occasion when I get to go.

Culvers custard is the best! In addition to great burgers, I like their reuben sandwich, chicken tenders and fries. If you ever get the chance to try them, I highly recommend it.

I love Culver's custard. Probably because I grew up in Milwaukee where there was a local place called Kopp's that was known for their custard. Also their huge burgers - they were thin but probably 8" across if not more - ordered with ketchup and fried onions they were wonderful.

Getting back to Culvers, I love some of the Culver's specialty flavors especially when they have lots of add ins. Some of my favorites are Turtle Dove, Raspberry Cheesecake, and Butter Pecan. On the other hand, my husband complains when his has too many add ins; says he doesn't get enough custard so I tell him he should stick with plain vanilla or chocolate, lol.

I've never liked cheeseburgers.
I like cheese, I like burgers but not together..

same with strawberries and chocolate.

Before COVID, I used to get a Whopper a couple of times a year, with a BOGO coupon, when I drove I-5 to LA - they were good in Kettlemen City - or when I visited MIL's town & was out doing errands. She seldom has anything decent for lunch. But I don't get those Qs anymore.

And now there's a Habit burger across the street.

I looked up Culvers, I couldn't find a map with all locations but after testing several cities, I think the nearest is Flagstaff. If I go back to the Grand Canyon one day, I'll have to check it out.

I love cheeseburgers and chocolate with strawberries or raspberries. I get my cheeseburgers plain - just the meat, cheese, and bun. I love peanuts but I don't like chocolate with peanuts. The charburger at The Habit is so good. It's going to set you back around $7 but it's worth it. I like a plain charburger with just mustard or a charburger on a wheat bun with only Swiss cheese. A double cheeseburger at In and Out will only set you back $4.55. I think it's the best value in fast food. It will fill you up and it's so good.

Did you read about the CVS employee who was stabbed and killed during a robbery on Christmas?

That's tragic. I read about it here. I guess the employee was stabbed by the robber on Long Island. Who robs a CVS, anyway? The robber apparently needed cash, but aren't there more lucrative sites to obtain money? Poor victim was filling in for a friend's shift. Kind of makes one believe in fate. https://longisland.news12.com/pro...-to-police
