The prior model of this discharges batteries shockingly fast. Not sure that was resolved. The 2724 that I have does a good job, but needs lots of charged batteries on hand.

I may need to do some research on the hack. I assume you return the Starter Kit and keep the blower at $95?

Yes that's exactly it. Some return desks will say you have to return both items so I just try another store.

I ordered this yesterday - the blower was ready within 10 minutes so I picked it up. I guess they were out of the charger and battery combo because that is now shipping to the store. I wonder if I just ignore the batteries and charger when they come in, I could just not pick them up and have them cancel that part of the order.

I've yet to have a return desk require both items. If Home Depot enforces that rule, they will lose a lot of future sales!
