Can anyone comment on the performance of this fan compared to the older model 7.5"? Is it truly more quiet with more air movement?

FYI those batteries are not HP like the one in the OP.

Slowly but surely I am learning Ryobi's confusing selection of batteries and chargers.

Could use a tasty deal on the fan only, I've got Ryobi batteries coming out of my ears.

I would not advise it. Li-Ion chargers have logic that prevents all sorts of nasty things happening.

I don't have the older model but this fan is great. I have a 4ah battery and my dad was fixing his car over 4 hours on 2 settings and it still had juice left for it. Quietness I cannot comment on because I use it more outdoors. The cool part is you can use any 3 prog cord to make this corded. Super light and portable.

Same as Tony's reply. Bought the $99 deal also linked in the thread with military discount. I was surprised with battery life. Full speed last 6 hrs and didn't die. Charged the battery and it was on the last 1/4 led. It's quiet especially for outdoors. Can't compare to the old version.

I saw a YouTube video that featured a cordless Kobalt fan that had a built in mister. It's made to sit on top of a 5-gallon bucket filled with ice and water, and it worked like an air conditioner. I think I'm going to be on the lookout for one of these to go on sale. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-7...lsrc=aw.ds

Ryobi makes one also... I can't vouch for this over Kobalt. I haven't tried either one. But if you already have Ryobi stuff, it maybe more economical.
