I have the 12v and 20v drill and impact sets the 12v handle on the drill is so flimsy its twisted a bit to the left. The 20v drill is actually starting to smell like burning electronics. I got them from cpo outlet via eBay I would've gotten 2 20v sets but they refused to let me cancel the accidental order. So I have 1 set for mum's house now. I don't use the impacts often but the 20v got a stuck tractor tire off last weekend. the recommended torque for it was something like 400-500ft-lbs I didn't think it would do it.
tl;dr I'd go with the 20v I've used both.

This is a good value. If you have old 18v nimh/nicad you may be surprised to find these brushless lithium 12v are lighter, more powerful, and the charge lasts longer. I also like that the charger can charge both 12v and 20v DeWalt. The DeWalt handles are also more comfortable then the Milwaukee M12 fuel unless you have large hands. However the m12 fuel tools feel like they are built better.
I ended up buying this DeWalt set to compare to my M12 and to get a good deal on an impact wrench. I'll probably end up selling the DeWalt drill and impact driver.
