Took forever to explain what went wrong. One CS rep saw I used physical coupons and explained that was the reason the $4 did not come off. Oy.

I have a store that when they scan your card at customer service, unless you've purchased an item up there, they've been instructed to 'destroy' coupons that print out from the catalina machine tied to your card.
For example, realized a digital didn't come off on receipt after I get home, bring receipt to store next day, they scan my card to issue me the $2 back, 5 cats print out tied to my card, they refuse to give them to me.
I pitched a royal fit, I said, I earn those from PRIOR purchase history and they are my coupons for my card. Just because you're giving me a digital coupon refund doesn't mean you tear up MY coupons.
Had to get the store manager involved, he relented, but they acted like they were doing me a favor.
If you have a store like this, it might be best to do any kind of exchange/credit/return AFTER you shop so you get the cats that print out without this nonsense.

I remember one time I went to CS before shopping for something and got those cat coupons when they scanned my card. She not only gave those to me, she even gave me a bunch of others she had on her desk when she realized I was going to use them!
